Bharatha’s daughter to enter politics
Hirunika Premachandra has told a weekly newspaper that she was yet to decide which party should would work with.
According to Hirunika, her brother is unlike her and dislikes politics.
She has said that her father, who was simple, nonviolent and innocent, had earned people, adding that she and her younger brother both have his qualities.
Hirunika has gone on to say that the large crowds paying their last respects to him show his popularity among the people, not just in Kolonnawa, but in the entire country.
On the other hand, there are no reports of people visiting those who had gunned him down like an animal although he lived like a lion, she said.
HIrunika has said that there is no one to take responsibility of the Kolonnawa people now, adding that she hopes to fill that void, although she could not be like her father, but will learn from his determination to serve the people.
